Happy Fall Y’all. It’s been another busy week! I’m still wishing I was back in Mexico soaking up the sun but here I am…. Trying to get back into the swing of things (still). It does help that it’s been a rainy Sunday Afternoon. You know what that means. Netflix and jammies all day.
As always, happy weekend to you all! Today I’m sharing my Fall Decor (kind of a fall home tour, but just sharing some of my fall finds for those of you who want to decorate on a budget…. THANKS TARGET and Trader Joes. While I was doing my almost weekly Target visit I scored on some amazing FALL finds in the “dollar section.” I purchased some cloth napkins for $3 for a 2pack, an oversized fall scarf, that I’m using as a throw blanket in my living room (don’t judge me). and some cute fall stencils, and stickers. Not to mention there was tons of spring/summer items on sale! Today was a win.
This might be the first time I’ve actually finished my weekly blog post THIS early… I finally get a longish vacation starting on Saturday! Mexico hear come…. I can not wait, it’s much needed. I’m taking off 3 whole days of work (Unheard of for me!!) But enough about me bragging about my VK coming up. I have a super awesome DIY to share with you! If you read my blog post a few months back about my DIY peel and stick faux shiplap wall, you know that project was not my favorite…
It’s October! Can you believe it? This is by far my favorite season, and my favorite time to decorate the house. Fall leaves, pumpkins, scarecrows, wood signs, orange and brown, did I say pumpkins everywhere, and a time to be thankful. I LOVE IT. As many of you know yesterday (Saturday October 1st) was my first official market, where I sold lots of my handmade items and refurbished antique style furniture. I was SO excited about it that I could Barely breathe. On my way to the market I told my husband I felt like I was going to throw up. (like the feeling you used to get before a really big sports game you were about to play in.) Well that was me…. This has been on my mind for a long time, and ever since I started blogging two years ago, it’s been a dream of mine. it’s been a long time comin’.
Happy Sunday! Was it just me or did this weekend go by wayyyyyy to fast. seriously it came and went. My husband and I had a busy weekend redoing our plank wall behind our tv. We decided to go for a more permanent look by using real wood. #shiplap. However, this entire past month has been filled with getting ready for my first market! (Oct 1st). I think I finally have a good inventory. I have a few finishing touchups to do, and I am still look for one more furniture piece to add to the collection. (only two weeks left to find it and give it a makeover).
I know, I know, It’s Wednesday ( Happy Hump Day)… Sundays are usually my post days, but this weekend came and went and didn’t leave any time for me to blog. Also, I apologize for not having posted my bathroom reveal! It’s still not don eyes. I had to postpone it while I’m working on prepping for my first vintage market! Which I have officially registered for October 1st!! I can not wait, it’s a dream come true, and shout out to my sister in law who is coming form AZ to help me for mental support ( I’m nervous)!
After some prayer, self talk, and a vacation to really think about my future, I have decided to take the plunge and pursue my year long dream of participating in a vintage market. I currently work full time at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders as a Therapist Liaison. I’ve always had a dream of starting my own business of buying and reselling furniture and DIYing lots of cool rustic artwork and farmhouse inspired decor. However with my full time job it’s tough to think about anything else after a long day of work. I love my job there and care so much about all of the people there, and I don’t plan to quit any time soon. Which means I’m going to have to become super woman and somehow juggle both, until maybe one day when a hobby can become a full time job.
Uhmm…. Where did the weekend go? I completely ran out of time this weekend to post my usual Sunday post.. So here we are, and Monday is almost over (Yay, am I right?) My newest project has been to tackle my boring upstairs guest bathroom, and in about 2 weekends the reveal is coming!! SO excited to share it with you all. I added some IKEA (kinda) floating shelves to above the toilet, for storage and a rustic look. I purchased 2 packs of the silver Ekeby brackets, which came in a pack of two. These were about $10 for each pack. IKEA does have shelves that fit perfectly in there, and I made the mistake of buying them. They were also $10 each. However I realized quickly that they were not stainable, and I wasn’t in love with the color. So I took them back and purchased some wood from home depot. The wood doesn’t fit perfectly but it definitely works. I paid $7 total for my wood. I also purchased some textured black spray paint from Home Depot for $6 and I painted the silver brackets black to give them a farmhouse look. I stained my wood in.. take a guess…. Special Walnut from Rustoleum. (I really need to venture out more).
It’s Sunday, Which means another blog post coming’ your way! Sorry I didn’t share anything last weekend. I was in Illinois with my husband and his family. Can’t pass up a chance to jet ski, wake board, and boat all day long. Not to mention score an awesome tan. We had a blast! If you ever get a chance to visit Fox lake in Illinois I highly recommend it! #lakehairdontcare. Any who….. Today I’m sharing my garage tool display! I love the way it turned out and it was super easy…
Happy Sunday! As many of you read last week, I posted my living/dining room reveal! I was extremely excited to share this with you, seeing as how it’s been a year in the making. I’m currently getting ready to tackle the upstairs guest bathroom. In the mean time, I wanted to share how I Made my rustic wood frame that was featured in my dining room. It’s the art hiding in the background of the photo. The frame was super easy, and the artwork is from my Etsy shop!
